The saga begins with the original 1979 film, directed by Ridley Scott. The commercial spaceship Nostromo receives a distress signal from a distant moon. When the crew, including Warrant Officer Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), investigates, they discover a derelict alien spacecraft and a vast chamber filled with eggs. One of the crew members, Kane (John Hurt), is attacked by a creature that latches onto his face. Despite efforts to remove it, the creature, known as a “facehugger,” eventually releases Kane, who seems to recover.
However, during a meal, a new horror emerges as a creature bursts from Kane’s chest, growing rapidly into a deadly xenomorph. The crew is picked off one by one by the creature. Ripley, demonstrating her resilience and resourcefulness, ultimately confronts the xenomorph and manages to expel it into space, ensuring her survival and establishing her as a formidable protagonist.
