The Legend of Tarzan (2016) is an American adventure film directed by David Yates and produced by Warner Bros. Pictures.

“The Legend of Tarzan” picks up the story of Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) years after he has left the jungles of Africa and settled into a civilized life in Victorian London as John Clayton, the Lord of Greystoke. Now married to his beloved Jane (Margot Robbie), he has adapted to the society of the upper class, leaving his wild past behind.

However, the British Parliament summons him back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary. Unbeknownst to him, this invitation is part of a nefarious scheme orchestrated by the corrupt Belgian Captain Léon Rom (Christoph Waltz). Rom, under the guise of bringing civilization to the region, is actually seeking to exploit the Congo’s resources and enslave its people. His ultimate goal is to capture Tarzan and deliver him to Chief Mbonga (Djimon Hounsou), who seeks revenge against Tarzan for past grievances.

Upon returning to the Congo, Tarzan is reawakened to the beauty and peril of the jungle. He reunites with old friends and allies, including the wise and powerful gorilla leader Kerchak and his adoptive mother, Kala. As Tarzan reconnects with his roots, Jane is kidnapped by Rom, forcing Tarzan to embark on a dangerous mission to rescue her.

With the help of George Washington Williams (Samuel L. Jackson), an American Civil War veteran and historian who exposes the atrocities occurring in the Congo, Tarzan confronts Rom’s forces. The film’s action sequences are a mix of breathtaking landscapes, thrilling chases, and intense hand-to-hand combat, showcasing Tarzan’s unparalleled agility and strength.

In a dramatic showdown, Tarzan uses his deep understanding of the jungle and its inhabitants to outmaneuver Rom and his men. He rallies the indigenous tribes and wildlife to fight against the invaders, ultimately thwarting Rom’s plan and liberating the Congo from his tyranny.
