Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) is a thriller film directed by Taylor Sheridan.

“Those Who Wish Me Dead” is a tense thriller directed by Taylor Sheridan, known for his knack for crafting gritty, suspenseful stories. The film centers around Hannah Faber (Angelina Jolie), a smokejumper haunted by a past tragedy where she was unable to save three young lives from a wildfire. Struggling with guilt and PTSD, Hannah is stationed at a remote fire lookout tower in the Montana wilderness.

The story kicks into high gear when a young boy named Connor Casserly (Finn Little) stumbles into her life. Connor is on the run after witnessing the brutal murder of his father, who was a forensic accountant with damaging information on powerful individuals. His father was killed by two ruthless assassins, Jack and Patrick Blackwell (Aidan Gillen and Nicholas Hoult), hired to silence anyone who could expose their employers.

Hannah takes on the responsibility of protecting Connor, despite being out of her depth in this deadly cat-and-mouse game. As they navigate the dense forest, the assassins close in, willing to kill anyone who stands in their way. To make matters worse, a massive wildfire—intentionally set by the assassins to flush out Connor—begins raging through the forest, adding another layer of danger.

The film builds tension through a series of close encounters and life-threatening situations. Hannah must confront her fears and use her survival skills to outsmart the assassins and save Connor. Along the way, they receive help from Ethan Sawyer (Jon Bernthal), a local sheriff who is also Connor’s uncle, and his pregnant wife Allison (Medina Senghore), who proves to be unexpectedly resourceful in a crisis.

“Those Who Wish Me Dead” combines intense action sequences with emotional depth, exploring themes of redemption, survival, and the lengths people will go to protect the innocent. With a strong performance by Jolie and a suspenseful narrative, the film keeps viewers on edge until its fiery conclusion.
